Salary: $85-95 DOE w/Excellent Benefits
Job Description
Oversees planning, survey, designs, contracting, and construction phase services for District projects.
Projects include but are not limited to surface and ground water production, distribution, storage, and
treatment facilities; drainage, streets and pavements; high voltage electrical distribution; and light
commercial structures. Directs the development and implementation of the District's Capital
Improvement Plan. Reviews and approves residential subdivision and commercial infrastructure plans.
Coordinates with federal, state, and local technical and regulatory agencies. Manages of staff of over
20 technical professionals including licensed engineers. Prepares and executes the Department's
budget. Makes presentations to the elected Board of Directors and to the general public.
Qualifications
. Must possess a minimum of 10 years experience in the design of water systems
. Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, business, or related technical field preferred.
. Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas
. Proficient in Word, Excel. Power Point and Outlook
. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
. Directs and coordinates activities of engineering department to design, specify and construct
water systems.
. Directs department activities, through subordinates, to design new infrastructures, modify
existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
. Reviews subdivision water collection system plans and water main replacement for CIP
projects.
. Confers with management, production, construction, maintenance and customer service staff to
determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing
infrastructure and facilities.
. Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
. Directs field testing of both the distribution system and the production facilities to solve problems
with meeting demand with volume or pressure or both.
Special Requirements
. Must have a good driving record and able to obtain and maintain automobile insurance (self)
and insurable .
Physical Requirements
. Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
. Must be able to exert or lift up to 100 pounds.
. Light physical activity performing daily activities of a primarily technical nature.

. Work indoors and outdoors and exposed to changing weather conditions
